Raised by Wolves? Stories of Feral Kids You Won’t Believe Exist
Hany Istók

In the marshes surrounding Lake Király-tó, Hungary, a captivating story unfolded with the discovery of Hany Istók in March 1749. This unique child, found by local fishermen, lived a life deeply entwined with the natural elements of water and wetlands. His appearance was striking—unclothed, with skin toughened by the elements and distinct webbing between his toes and fingers, hinting at a life spent in aquatic harmony.
His body was covered in hair, and rumors swirled about his ability to catch fish with his bare hands. Despite being baptized and named István, Hany never adopted human speech. He ran away in 1751, was seen several times, but was never captured again.
