Raised by Wolves? Stories of Feral Kids You Won’t Believe Exist

Robert Mayanja

In the heart of Uganda’s jungle in 1985, a young boy named Robert Mayanja was found living among monkeys. At six years of age, his early life was a mystery, though it’s believed he was left alone after his parents fell victim to the war. The monkeys became his family, teaching him to survive. Robert adopted their behaviors, from their unique sounds to their way of moving.

Robert was taken to a care facility, where he mastered basic skills through therapy. While he never spoke, he learned to express his emotions, living proof of the resilience within us all and the profound connections that cross species lines.
