The Lovable Twins From “Freaks” / Pip and Flip (1901 – 1934) (1913 – 1976)
Out of all the circus characters featured in the 1932 movie “Freaks,” Pip and Flip are arguably the most memorable. Their act was perfectly tailored for show business. Even though they were born in Georgia, they were credited as being from the exotic Mexican state of Yucatán. And while they had a 12-year age difference, they were listed as twins.
Due to their mental disability, Pip and Flip acted like children and made audiences laugh. That was the basis of their successful act. The duo was over in 1934, the year the older sister passed away. Jenny, the younger one, went on to live up until 1976.
