Unbelievable Boomer Kid Activities That Would Never Happen Today

Riding Bikes Without Helmets

Ask your local Boomer whether they were one of the daring ones who used to ride bikes without helmets. In the 1960s and 1970s, it was normal to see kids zooming around neighborhoods with the wind in their hair. This trend is understandable because helmets were not yet standard safety gear, and kids enjoyed the feeling of freedom and invincibility.

They’d perform tricks, race, and explore, all without a thought for head protection. Nonetheless, as awareness of head injuries grew and safety regulations evolved, helmet use became the norm. Today, helmets are a must-have for biking, skating, and other activities.
