Unbelievable Boomer Kid Activities That Would Never Happen Today
Encyclopedias in Every Home

Kids back then had their own version of the Internet: the encyclopedia. These hefty volumes, packed with facts and illustrations, were the go-to resource for school projects and random curiosities. In the 1950s, nearly every home had one of these, and families proudly displayed them for guests to admire.
These books provided a treasure trove of knowledge in one place and were the original Google. Fast-forward to today, and information is just a click away, making encyclopedias a nostalgic relic. Kids now can’t relate to or imagine the effort required to look up facts by flipping through pages instead of typing a quick search.
