Raised by Wolves? Stories of Feral Kids You Won’t Believe Exist
Prava the Bird Boy

Prava, known as the Bird Boy, presents a fascinating instance of Mowgli Syndrome, yet his story diverges as he is raised alongside birds, not by them. He lived with his mother and countless birds in a cramped apartment, treated more like a feathered companion than a human child.
Discovered by Russian officials in 2008 at age seven, Prava’s upbringing was void of human conversation, leading him to mimic bird sounds and gestures as his primary means of communication. Social workers like Galina Volskaya emphasized that while he wasn’t physically harmed, his mother’s neglect left him chirping and flapping his arms as ways of communication.
