The World’s Most Brutal Sideshow Performer? / Lobster Boy (1937 – 1992)
The infamous Grady Stiles suffered from ectrodactyly and worked as a sideshow performer. Because of his unique look, he became famous as the ‘Lobster Boy.’ However, Stiles also went down in history for being a brutal man, prone to alcoholism and recurrent violence.
In 1978, he was sentenced to jail after killing the fiancé of his oldest daughter the night before their wedding! Later in life, he was so abusive towards his own family that his wife hired a 17-year-old man to kill him. Such was the fate of the ‘Lobster Boy,’ who shows us the darker side of the circus world.
