Knees bending backward? We think it’s painful just to watch! But to the sideshow performer Ella Harper, that was just the way she came into the world. Due to her unique look, she found a place in W. H. Harris’s Nickel Plate Circus and was featured in numerous newspapers.
Her act was similar to that of ‘The Pony Boy,’ as she would regularly walk on all fours. She was dubbed ‘The Camel Girl’ and was very successful! She was paid an impressive salary of $200 per week for her services and managed to finance her own education after leaving show business.
