It was 1852 when a showman by the name of Lyman Warner stumbled upon two midget brothers living in Long Island, New York. A widow, their mother decided to let go of them after being offered an undisclosed sum of money. Warner’s bet paid off: after turning the two brothers into a sideshow attraction, he helped them make a reported $200K.

The siblings performed under the name ‘The Wild Men of Borneo’ and were part of P. T. Barnum’s show. More than just short men, these two were bonafide entertainers who loved to share their unusual strength and sense of humor with the crowd.
