The CBS News 8’s “Morning News” team received an unexpected visit in 2018. Sophie, a vibrant scarlet ibis from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, decided to make a guest appearance that was anything but ordinary. While discussing the ibis, known for their striking red plumage and relation to storks and spoonbills, Sophie took a bold leap onto anchor Nichelle Medina’s head.
Nichelle, ever the professional, smiled and carried on, showcasing her unflappable composure. Her colleague, Eric Kahnert, however, found the situation too humorous to handle with the same grace.
