CHUCK YEAGER – 95 YEARS OLD, 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS
Chuck Yeager was the first to reach the sound barrier by flying an X-1 at Mach 1.07 at an altitude of 14 kilometers. As a test pilot after World War II, he broke several speed and altitude records before retiring and leaving the United States Air Force in 1975. Hollywood even gave him a nod in the film The Stuff of Heroes. Some might say that a $1.5 million fortune isn’t a lot, but a financial advisor would tell you that for a public servant, Yeager hasn’t done too badly.
