Lynne McGranger – New South Wales – Born In 1953
Lynne McGranger holds the distinction as the longest-serving female cast member of any Australian soap opera and has played Irene Roberts’s role on ‘Home and Away’ for 28 years. Jacquy Phillips originally portrayed the role, but Lynne took over in 1993 when Jacquy left the series.
Aside from ‘Home and Away,’ she has also acted in another soap opera, ‘The Flying Doctors.’ An equally talented dancer, the multi-talented Lynne showed her fabulous dancing moves as a contestant on ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ Proving how much she likes to stay busy, the veteran performer enjoys doing pantomimes over the Christmas holidays, and she is also known to be a big fan of the ‘Sydney Swans.’
