Unbelievable Boomer Kid Activities That Would Never Happen Today
Shaking Polaroids Like Crazy

Boomer kids can relate so well to shaking Polaroids after taking photos. Polaroid cameras were introduced in the late 1940s but became incredibly popular in the 1960s and 1970s because they developed photos on the spot. Kids loved snapping a picture and then eagerly shaking the photo to speed up the development process, even though it wasn’t necessary.
This trend turned photography into a fun, interactive experience. As digital cameras and smartphones emerged, the need for instant film dwindled. Today, while Polaroids have made a retro comeback, shaking them is more for nostalgia than necessity, and instant digital photos dominate our snap-happy lives.
