Anita Dobson is an actress, a performer, and a singer, among many other things, but remains best known for her appearance in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Though, she was not the first person who got an offer to play the role of Angie.
Jean Fennell was her forerunner, but the casting directors thought of recasting, as the latter didn’t fit the character’s disposition, and voila! Anita got a ticket to one of the best soaps of her time! One of the veteran performer’s more recent appearances was playing Mirabelle Hubble in ‘The Worst Witch,’ and Dobson’s also found success in other projects, like The Bill and Casualty.
