As the name suggests, these snakes are more often found in Southeast and East Asia. They have glands on their necks where they accumulate their venom. This is a by-product of the snake, including poisonous frogs in its diet. However, human deaths are extremely scarce because these snakes are very non-confrontational.
Depending on the weather, this snake takes two approaches when it feels threatened. During hot months, it will immediately scurry away when it feels the presence of large animals. However, when it’s cold, it’ll stay immobile, flattening itself against the ground. This is when it’s considered more dangerous.
