Passport to Laughter: These Hilarious Airport Pics Are Worth the Layover

Unlikely Visitor Tries to Take Flight

This photo of a polar bear casually strolling down the runway beside an airplane was captured at the Wiley Post-Will Rogers Memorial Airport in Alaska, formerly known as Barrow Airport. This unusual scene isn’t completely out of the ordinary for some of the world’s more remote airports, where wild nature and human technology often cross paths.

Polar bears are native to the Arctic regions and are known to wander into human settlements in search of food, especially as their natural habitats face increasing pressures from climate change. The wide-open spaces in airports might unintentionally invite curious or wandering wildlife like bears.
