Riding in an elevator can be an awkward and uneasy experience when sharing the space with a stranger. Not only do we have to grapple with the silence between us, but time can seem to pass infinitely slowly. We can only long for the elevator to reach the desired floor so we can quickly escape the uncomfortable atmosphere.
