Hill of Crosses – Lithuania
One of the scariest places, ‘Hill of Crosses’ is enough to spook even the most ardent horror fans! It is situated north of the Siauliai city and initially served as a shrine to Lithuanian rebels who took part in the rebellion against the Russian Empire but didn’t live to tell their heroic tales.
Since 1831, the hill has become home to thousands of crosses, shrines, and carvings that make the pilgrimage site a scary scene to behold! The Russian government has tried many times to close the place, but it has proven near impossible with people’s undying beliefs.
