Here’s How Much the Cast of Your Favorite TV Shows Make From the Reruns

Most television and film actors encounter difficult financial times before they become stable. Unless they are able to secure a role in a lengthy TV series with a huge paycheck per episode, it’s highly unlikely they will make enough money to retire quickly, and perhaps that’s why they’re constantly searching for the next project.

Most television series go off-air after a few seasons, but some famous and long-running ones make A-listers out of their cast. If actors can negotiate to earn backend royalties for reruns, they might as well retire to the tropics and wait to earn millions every year. That said, let’s see how much rerun royalties these celeb actors earn.

Kelsey Grammer, Frasier

Seasons: 11
Final Episode Airdate: May 13, 2004
Show Residuals: Up to $13 million a year

Like most artistic successes, Frasier’s came not out of planning but as a happy accident that ended up earning rave reviews. The classic sitcom’s leading role was played by Kelsey Grammer, and it ran for 11 seasons until 2004. Interestingly, his character, Dr. Frasier Crane, wasn’t featured until in the spinoff that came in the fourth season.

At the time, Grammer was just 29 years old and an emerging actor in American theater. He went on to earn $1.6 million per episode. After the successful show ended, it was only natural for rumors of a rerun to start circulating. Finally, the rerun came in 2021, with the same characters as Grammer had requested.
