Angela Merkel – 3.5 million euros
Angela Merkel was Germany’s chancellor for 16 years. In 2005 she became the country’s first female chancellor. Before her career in politics, Angela Merkel was already earning well as a former scientist. As chancellor, however, she received a monthly wage of around 35,000 euros and a few other official salaries. With her annual salary of 420,000 euros, however, she also had a number of deductions.
It is estimated that she has earned a good 5.5 million euros during her political career, but has also spent quite a bit. Today she is said to still have 3.5 million euros, and she will certainly receive a very good pension.
