Matt Serra is known for his big win in The Ultimate Fighter 4 competition by defeating leading rival fighters like Pete Spratt, Shonie Carter, and Chris Lytle. In 2018, he received his spot on the UFC Hall of Fame, in the pioneer wing.
In May of 2007, Serra married his current wife, Ann Serra, and the couple has two children. The family resides in Massapequa, New York, as of 2019. Serra runs two Brazilian jiu-jitsu schools in New York and coaches popular fighters like Chris Weidman, Gian Villante, and Aljamain Sterling.
