Julie Christie, the British film legend, was dubbed as “the most poetic of all actresses” by the legendary Al Pacino. She was born in 1940 in India. Christie, a “Swinging Sixties” icon, has bagged multiple awards, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
She has acted in top films, and six among them were listed in BFI’s Top 100 British films of the twentieth century. Christie’s career-defining performance came in the film Billy Liar. Her performances in Darling, for which she earned an Academy Award for Best Actress, and Doctor Zhivago, catapulted her to international prominence.
