Famous Celebrities From The Golden Age Who Are Still Alive & Awesome
LESLIE PHILLIPS- NOW 97 YEARS OLD
Leslie Phillips is a veteran comic actor from the UK who excels in playing mellow, typically English clichés. Leslie rose to prominence by portraying elegant, upper-class comedy parts. The unique quality of him which made him stand out was his catchphrases like “Ding Dong” and “He-llo,” especially the way he said it.
To this day, his most famous performance is considered to be in the Doctor in the House. He starred in Carry On and also worked in radio, most notably on the BBC’s The Navy Lark. Phillips went on to play serious parts later in his career, including delivering the voice for the Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter films.
