TOMMY STEELE – NOW 87 YEARS OLD

Tommy Steele, aka Sir Thomas Hicks, is an English entertainer often recognized as Britain’s first adolescent idol and rock & roll sensation. Steele was able to leave behind his pop-idol status thanks to a rise in home-grown musical talent in the 1950s and 1960s, allowing him to pursue a career in stage and cinema musicals.

Steele created and published The Final Run, a novel about World War II and the Dunkirk evacuation, in 1981. He also penned Quincy, a children’s tale about a rejected toy seeking to save himself and his fellow denies from the furnace the day after Christmas in the basement of a toy store.
