This exhausted fox mother is a relatable example of the challenges of parenting in the animal kingdom. With her eyes drooping shut, she still manages to feed her adorable cubs, who look like fluffy little puppies. It’s no surprise that foxes are often compared to domesticated dogs as they belong to the same family.
For the first few weeks of their lives, the cubs are born blind, deaf, and unable to regulate their body temperature, making their mother’s constant care essential. While foxes typically give birth to four or five cubs, some may have up to six or more. They become independent after seven months to a year.
