Patrick Lavon Mahomes II, also known as Patrick Mahomes or Pat Mahomes, is a prominent American football player who serves as a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL). Born on September 17, 1995, in Tyler, Texas, he was selected by the Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft.
After a year as a backup to Alex Smith, Mahomes became the starting quarterback in 2018 and quickly excelled. In that season, he was named MVP after achieving 5,097 passing yards and 50 touchdowns.
