The good news is that her fears seem to be simply just that. As of late 2020, Knox still appears on Corrie as Rita Tanner and even commemorated the program’s milestone 60th anniversary. It appears that she’s among the blessed few who are blessed to have a long and fruitful career in the limelight.
Julie Goodyear – 78
Julie Goodyear is another actress who had a successful run with Coronation Street, starring as the barmaid Bet Lynch from 1966 to 2003. That good fortune isn’t lost on her. She’s even shared her wealth with the needy during a time of national crisis.
In 2020, she donated some of her personal jewelry and some pieces her TV character once wore to be auctioned off. The proceeds benefited the Willow Wood Hospice, which was close to her heart because it was founded by the actor who played her screen husband.
