Jacqueline Ente is the woman we know as Line Renaud, a name she adopted in 1945. Loulou Gasté, the late French composer, was her mentor, and he suggested the name change. Renaud had her start on a radio show, which launched her subsequent music career. In the ’60s, she put up performances at the Dunes Los Vegas and later recorded music in English. She married Gasté in 1950, and they stayed together until his death in 1995. At 91, Renaud has settled into her golden years with her health declining. She suffered a fall in early 2018, but we’re glad that she’s now doing fine.
