After a series of supporting roles, Jon Voight landed the project that established him as a Hollywood icon. His performance as Joe Buck in the 1969 film “Midnight Cowboy” earned an Academy Award nomination. This led him to star in more critically acclaimed films such as “Deliverance” and “The Champ.”
Among his long list of accolades are four Golden Globe Awards and one Academy Award. His contribution to the industry was awarded the 2019 National Medal of Arts. Still appearing onscreen, he acted in the 2022 television film “Ray Donovan: The Movie.” Voight is also known as the father of Hollywood artists James Haven and Angelina Jolie.
