Burnett originally became famous as a Broadway actress. She earned critical acclaim and her first big paychecks after her appearance on Once Upon A Mattress in 1959.
When it comes to television, everybody remembers her from her time as a host in The Carol Burnett Show which featured comedy sketches, music performances, and other projects. Burnett has also written numerous memoirs about her life, with one of them earning her a Grammy.
