KATARINA WITT – AGE 56 YEARS
A former German figure skater, Katarina Witt is a two-time Olympic champion and four-time world champion. Witt is widely considered to be one of the greatest figure skaters of all time. After retiring from the competition, Witt became a TV personality and starred in an autobiographical film, Carmen on Ice.
In 1990, her special appearance in the film earned her an Emmy Award. That same year, Witt and Brian Boitano designed a skating show that voyaged across the United States. In 1995, she was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame. The prolific Witt also published her autobiography, Meine Jahre zwischen Pflicht und Kür, in 1994.
