In 2021 Melinda and Bill Gates announced on social media that they will be divorcing. According to the Washington Journal, they’ve been working on their relationship for years now, but they’ve finally come to an impasse. Either way, Forbes now estimates that her fortune has skyrocketed to over $2.4 billion. Especially since their announcement, Bill has been transferring some of his assets to Melinda. That includes his stakes at companies like AutoNation and the Canadian National Railway Co. Given that in 2020 they purchased a $43-million house in Del Mar, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Melinda keeping it since Bill has Xanadu 2.0 in Washington D.C.
