Kim Basinger was already making money in the modeling industry in the 1970s before she shifted her focus to acting. In 1976, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an actress. Some of her first few roles were in From Here To Eternity and Hard Country. Her big break came when she starred as Lynn Bracken in the movie, L.A. Confidential. Her portrayal of the role won her the Best Supporting Actress award at the Academy Awards that year. Her most recent acting role is as Elena Lincoln in the films Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
