As kids, we were told that for dual-colored erasers, the blue section erased ink from pens. But that’s not really the case. Here’s the truth – the blue section is designed to erase pencil markings on paper types that are stronger and thicker than the regular paper found in notebooks or of the looseleaf variety. The paper artists’ work is, by nature, more easily affected by friction, and this is why a different eraser from the pink side is required for them. ‘Erasers’ aren’t called that by their manufacturers. ‘Plugs’ is the name they call the small bit of eraser at the end of a pencil. Bet you can’t find that on textbooks!
