Regis Philbin was a respected figure in the media fraternity for his work as a game show and talk show host. Upon graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and transitioned to broadcasting after concluding his service. He started his career working on “The Tonight Show” and later wrote for the late Tom Dugan’s talk show. He soon headlined shows like “The Regis Philbin Show” and “Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee.” Philbin served as the host of the latter show from 1988 to 2000. He also had cameos in several sitcoms like “How I Met Your Mother” and “Seinfeld.” At the time of his passing, he was worth an estimated $150M.
