Raised by Wolves? Stories of Feral Kids You Won’t Believe Exist

The Leopard Boy

In 1920, EC Stuart Baker shared the story of the Leopard Boy in the Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society. This boy, whisked away by a leopardess from his home in the North Cachar Hills in 1912, re-emerged from the wild three years later, running on all fours with astonishing speed and agility.

His movements through the underbrush were more nimble and quick than any child his age. Baker noted his adapted physical traits: hardened knees, toes bent, and his hands and feet covered in tough, horny skin. Upon discovery, the boy fiercely resisted capture, using teeth and nails as his defense.
