40 Years Of Captivating Sisterhood Through A Camera Lens
The Beginning – 1975
When photographer Nicholas Nixon first took a photo of his wife Bebe Brown and the lady’s three sisters Laurie, Heather and Mimi, we doubt he knew it would be a 40-year long project. This first snap, taken in 1975 when the famous film ‘Jaws’ was released, marked the start of an annual sister’s photo project.
Over the years, Nixon was consistent in his craft, and one thing that stood out was that he never put up captions next to his images. Brilliant, isn’t it? The whole idea is to let the audience deduce what they would from the photos, leaving it all to their imagination.
